Abstract
The rapid evolution of digital health technologies has transformed the delivery of healthcare services worldwide, making telemedicine an essential component of modern healthcare systems, improving access to care for rural, remote and underserved communities. This interactive workshop will explore the foundational principles of Telemedicine, including virtual consultations, remote patient monitoring, digital diagnostics, electronic health records integration, and the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare delivery. Participants will gain an understanding of how Telemedicine improves access to care, enhances patient outcomes, reduces healthcare disparities, and supports continuity of care in both urban and rural settings. The workshop will also address critical operational and ethical considerations such as data privacy, cybersecurity, patient confidentiality, legal frameworks, licensing, reimbursement models, and quality assurance in virtual healthcare environments. Through case studies, demonstrations, and expert-led discussions, attendees will examine successful telemedicine models from diverse healthcare systems and learn strategies for adapting these solutions within their own organisations and communities. Special emphasis will be placed on emerging trends in digital healthcare innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the role of telemedicine in strengthening health system resilience during public health emergencies and beyond. Participants will have opportunities to engage with industry experts, share experiences, and develop practical action plans for telemedicine adoption and sustainability.
